Governor Appoints New Medicaid Director, Policy Adviser
Thursday, May 27, 2021Governor Kim Reynolds' former health policy adviser will take over as director of Iowa Medicaid Enterprise (IME) on June 1. Liz Matney has served in the governor's office since 2019. Before that she headed the state's Medicaid managed care program. Matney replaces former IME Director Mike Randol, who departed the agency last August. Meanwhile, the governor has tapped Traci Vitek to take over Matney's prior position as health policy adviser. Most recently Vitek served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Legislation at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
