Athene expands Game Changers scholarship program, seeks applicants
Monday, January 10, 2022Athene USA announced that the application period is now open for its 2022 Game Changers Scholars Program. Now in its second year, the program has been expanded and will award $80,000 in scholarships annually through 40 individual scholarships. The inaugural program last year awarded 20 scholarships of $2,000 each. The scholarships are designed to support Iowa students with financial need who attend or plan to attend college or university in Iowa; last year’s recipients are eligible to reapply. "We are honored to be able to expand the Game Changers Scholars program," said Kristi Kaye Burma, executive vice president of human resources at Athene, a retirement services company based in West Des Moines. "Athene is deeply committed to the Iowa community and investing in its young people." The program is sponsored by the Athene Charitable Foundation and is administered by Scholarship America.
